Hi
Is there any way to import values from a certain Excel spreadsheet column to
a certain Access table field. The Access built in Import function does not
help on this.

You can link (or import) directly to an Excel table. Just choose the Excel
filetype. You can also use automation to read an write. The example shown is
to write to a worksheet, but the same logic is used to read from it:

yeah.. you're right man.. the excel importer from Access _SUCKS_

your only real choice is to import the whole range !SHEET1$A1:FF255

this is the buggiest software I've EVER seen in my whole life... and
Microsoft isn't doing anything about it.

TAKE YOUR XML AND SHOVE IT MICROSOFT

FIX WHAT YOU'RE ALREADY SELLING YOU POS COMPANY

So you are having difficulties with Access?

All software is buggy. Professionals who know what they are doing know
the bugs and work around them. Such is life.

no it's not life.

Microsoft is too drunk to fix Access.
and now they're talking about all these new features.

I just DEMAND BUGFREE SOFTWARE.

Microsoft has $60bn in the bank-- maybe instead of making an Xbox and
Mac versions of Office and 90 million other new apps that they're
coming out with-- they should be able to respond to requests to fix
bugs.

They are too lazy to sell software that is ACCEPTABLE.

I know how to work around bugs. I'm just tired of crap like:

a) entering a format string and it doesnt listen to your format string
b) entering decimal places and it doesnt pay attention
c) a dozen bugs -- HANGS and CRASHES -- with Access.

and I know that Microsoft could AFFORD to do a better job.

Keep demanding. At the same time demand honest car salesmen. How about
a crime free city.

i just think that Microsoft isn't responsible.

i am outraged that they're out selling XBOX instead of fixing bugs in
Office. dipshits should be in jail for FRAUD
