import excel .csv into access (cells +255 chrs)

Does anyone know how I can import a .csv file into Access and have Access
consider a column a memo field so those cells with greater than 255
characters will all come across (those with more than 255 characters)? I am
using Access and Exce 2002. I've tried linking the spreadsheet which of
course doesn't work either.

It's been a LONG time since I've written an Import Specification...but I
think you can
ask for a Memo field in the Spec...

In making an Import Specification (I just checked that), "Memo" is
one of the selections.

Do you understand completely how to make an Import Specification?
IF not, let me know..they've always worked for me.
