Import decimal numbers with trailing zeros into Excel

I need to import decimal numbers from text files into Excel without losing
format (e.g. trailing zerors are preserved "2.00").

I know that you can import the decimal numbers into Excel as text then the
trailing zeros will be preserved. However, I want Excel to treat the values
as numbers, preserving the decimals and trailing zeros.

Is this possible?

Thanks,
Jack

Excel doesn't store the trailing zeros even if you hand enter them into cells
as numbers. You can show as many trailing zeros as you want if you format
the cell to display them - so the solution is to format the cell to show the
number of trailing zeros you want. do it manually or with code.
