Implements and Word Automation

When I try to use

IMPLEMENTS ApplicationEvents2 IN "Word.Application"

in a class to trap the word application events, I get a Type Library "Word
Application" not found error. But when I use the TypeLibGUID along with the
version number instead of Word.application, it works fine. Any ideas on why
using ProgID is not working?
