Immediate access to new data in a subform combo box?

I have a mainform in an access databse with subforms. When I need additional
data in one of the subform combo boxes, I minimize the mainform, enter the
data in the corresponding lookup table and then return to the same record on
the mainform. However I can't retrieve this new information without closing
the mainform and then reopening it. I have no problem with combo boxes on the
mainform. I am using Access 2000.
