IMAP/Keeps asking for password -- HELP!

Greetings! We use IMAP at work. I also have Outlook 2002 on my office
computer. I login in the morning and then repeatedly throughout the
day -- every few minutes!! -- Outlook asks for my password. I called
our IT department who, after much fussing around and long silences,
only came up with the suggestion to enable Outlook to remember my
password all of the time. Not a very bright suggestion in that my
email becomes insecure. I would really appreciate advice, suggestions,
help, insights about how to fix this annoying problem without
following the IT guys suggestion to just have it remember the password
all of the time. Thanks in advance!! JTK
 
my users have had the problem you are having, and to resolve it i deleted
their outlook profile and create a new one for them, or even at time their
domain user profile (a last resort). the results where when they logged on in
the morning, and started outlook their was no need to type in a password to
access email.

what you have been advised, i would call a lazy, though valid work around!
