Imaging system...as in scanner, digital camera, video
card or what?

I have an EPSON printer/scanner/copier combo. I can copy
and print, but cannot scan. I recieve errors saying
things like the scanner cannot be detected or there is a
TWAIN error. EPSON walked me through several steps to
attempt to correct the problem and then declared that I
must reinstall the windows resident scanning program. In
some OS you can do this in Add/Remove Progams and the
WINDOWS SETUP tab. This option is not available in
Windows 2000. Epson said that it is more complex in 2000
and requires modifying certain system files and they
cannot help. Hopefully someone else can.

"If you mean Image viewer"
This can be uninstalled by editing the "sysoc.inf file, found in
"winnt\inf", you'll have to unhide windows system files to get there.
look for this line...
"imagevue=ockodak.dll,ImagingOcEntry,imagevue.inf,Hide,7"
and delete "Hide" so it looks thus...
"imagevue=ockodak.dll,ImagingOcEntry,imagevue.inf,,7"
Now you can uninstall it from "Control Panel\add/remove Programs"
Finally, if you didn't mean "Image Viewer", forget you ever saw this post...
