Images won't appear in IE6

Every web page that I view will have multiple ALT tags
instead of the image(picture). I have to go in manually
and 'show picture'. I have Windows 2000 and IE 6 with all
available patches installed. I've searched the knowledge
base with no avail. Does anyone know how to prevent this
or which keywords to use in searching?
