Images Pixelated and blurry in IE6.0

I recently reinstalled the OS and now all of the images in IE are pixelated,
blurry, and simply dreadful looking. It's driving me nuts! The last time I
had this problem, I had to go into the registry and fix it, but that was when
Dell wasn't making the distinction between "hardware" and "software" support,
so I had someone who could tell me what to do.

First try a DPI setting of 96 (Control Panel> Display> Settings> Advanced>
General> DPI.)

Last... Are you running an internet accelerator program? Those reduce image
quality (among other measures) to speed up display of webpages.
