Images do not display on website; Preview OK; images are on srver

Yesterday I published a page with some images, and everything worked fine on
the site. I came back this morning and the images on this particular page no
longer display on the browser. The FP preview works fine. And all the
images and linking pages are still present on the server. I even republished
the entire site. And still, the images will not display on this latest page
that I posted to the site. There are no placeholders or anything. Just
empty space.

What is going on?

Bizarre. I just checked on my other machine (both running Win 2K and IE 6)
and the page displays just fine - as you report.

So, what could be happening on my laptop that would cause those images to
not display?

Try clearing the browser cache files.

Hi Steve,

I cleared the caches, rebooted the computer, and still the same problem.
BTW, this same problem (of images that don't appear) occurs both with IE and
with Mozilla on the same computer. So maybe it is not the browser?

Are you running any Norton products on the Laptop? NIS will remove
from pages (as they download) all references to images that appear to
be advertisements - the removal is based on pathname, filename, and
size (in pixels) of the image.
Some other Internet Security products do the same.
