Image viewer "cannot find" image files

Seweryn

Hello all,

I am having a bit of a problem with the image viewer,
and was hoping someone here would have some experience or
help in this problem of mine...

Just last week, I had no problems with it. Since
yesterday however, it will not let me open any image
files with it. The integrity of the files is ok, as I can
open them up woth other applications. Whenever I dbl
click to open a image file (does not matter what kind), I
get an error message stating: "Windows cannot
find 'C:/images/xyxy.jpg' Make sure you typed it in
correctly and try again. " Has a few more lines about
searching for the file, but I think that is irrelevant.
I have not made any changes to my computer other than
installing Macromedia MX 2004 over my old Macromedia MX.
I have tried to do a system restore prior to my
instalation of Macromedia, but the restores are always
unsucessful.
Thank you for any help or suggestions,
- Seweryn

Just another case of integrated apps within windows causing problems.
Best to NOT put all your eggs in one basket anyway.

Does it work if you right-click -> Open with... -> select "Windows Image & Fax viewer"? Is that
choice available under 'Open with..."?

You could also try:

Start -> Run -> type: "regsvr32 /u shimgvw.dll"
Start -> Run -> type: "regsvr32 shimgvw.dll"
