How do I prevent an image from being downloaded from my site? ie: when a viewer right clicks on the image, I want it to tell them it is copywright protected as my site is a "buy photo" site.

You can't, because when the image is
showing in the browser it is already
in the visitors browser cache files.

What you can do is:
1. place a text watermark on the image
2. use a degraded copy of the image.
3. don't publish the images.

You can use a javascript "No right click" script
to pop up the copyright statement, but this only slows
down inexperienced users.

you read it and save yourself a lot of time spent "surfing" for solutions
that don't work.

Most of the 'buy photo' sites I've seen only show a very small copy of the
photo. You can't see the full size until you buy.

Or combine this post with the last. Show them a thumbnail. Link
to a large version but put a significant watermark across it
making it useless.

I may be wrong but I don't think he is ... the reason being is he works for
Microsoft. Though he should be a MVP as he does sterling work:)
