Image.dll error

HI

I have two rundll boxes pop up everytime I boot up (as
the desktop opens)

The message is: "unable to locate C:\Windows\image.dll"

I click OK to both, they go away, but reappear everytime
I boot up.

Are these files available? and what would cause them to
suddenly be unavailable??

It's either a valid scanner DLL or some PARASITE. Your post doesn't tell
about your machine so I can't guess

From me.
The location of the .dll C:\Windows\image.dll suggests a parasite,I have
image.dll on my system but it's inside my ahead (nero) folder
Also image.dll can be downloaded from a .dll site I've used before and trust.

First step is tp follow both Will's and Kelly's advice about scanning for
parasites
I only posted this just in case those do not help,it could be a valid but
corrupted .dll.

THANKS

I several of the various suggestions that were offered,
and each one contributed to cleaning up my machine, but
the dratted boxes still remained.

Finally I worked my way through the list of solutions to
Kelly's referral to Ad-Aware cleanup. That found dozens
of referrences that were suspect, and after running the
scan, I just rebooted and the error messages ARE GONE!!

I appreciate the responses and suggestions. It hopefully
will make me more faithful in running diagnostics and
cleanup.
