I'm tying to understand U3.

I'm tying to understand U3.

Read the text at Internet sites, but

I'm not sure I understand what I read.

Is the following true:

Without U3 one could install an app specifying the ScanDisk as the directory
to install into.

Move the scan disk to another computer and try to run the app, which
probably will not run because, for example, the app looks for things it put
in the registry when it was installed (or maybe in another directory).

However, some apps are designed to run under U3 and will not have the above
mentioned problem

That is, there are apps for sale that are designed to run under U3 while
most apps or sale will not run if installed on U3.

Is that correct?

Thanks in advance!

Any app you install to the U3 drive MUST be U3 compatible or a portable app.
You are correct that trying to install a standard app to it, such as MS
Office, will result in the app not functioning.
