Im Confused?

Hey,

Im trying to use a lookup function to find multiple dates and their
corresponding metal loss value in amongst a huge sheet of data. These
dates (col. A) and the numbers I am after (Col. B) are taken at
irregular intervals and I need to find a way of looking up how many
dates occur during a certain period and more importantly, a regression
line on the numbers in col. B.

I can do a regression line on the numbers using linest, but I dont want
to have to manually select the range each time.

Any ideas?

We too are confused. How can we expect Excel to know what range you wish to
work with?
