Illegal Operation

Ever since I downloaded IE 6.0 I'll be surfing and get
this window saying Explorer has performed an illegal
operation and will shut down, however it does not shut
down, instead it locks up the computer and I have to shut
down by turning off the computer. Any suggestions. Thanks.
 
Doug, I get a similar thing but I get the message, more
often than not, that explorer has encountered a problem
and must shut down. Then the system freezes and I must to
a complete reboot. If you get any satisfaction please let
me know-I'm going nuts over here.
