I and many others use Avast and like it. Whether it will suit your
tastes won't be known until you try it for a while.

It is for me. I did it a year ago - no complaints about Avast!
For a while EZ and Avast lived together in my computer; Avast caught more viruses than EZ
did.

Try AntiVir-it's detection rate is higher since they upgraded to

Do you have an Internet Mail Shield running? You can either close it, or
adjust it by unchecking the scans of incoming and outgoing mail. You can
also check the redirect ports as your firewall may be blocking them.
Go to the Avast forums and post a thread. They're very helpful there.
