IIS under Windows XP

Is there any way to "force" IIS under Windows XP to run (not just create)
multiple web sites at the same time? I've figured out how to make it create
more than one web site, but it will still only run one at a time.

If that is the case, are there any third party applications that will allow
for hosting of multiple web sites under Windows XP?

I wouldn't want to use XP for that. I'd be more comfortable with a
dedicated server running a real server OS. That said, you might look
into Apache, which is probably the most popular web server software, and
used by the majority of Internet sites. There's a Windows port
