IIS, ASP and FPSE

I have Windows XP Pro with IIS 5.1 and FrontPage 2003

After much research as well as trial and error, I am
unable to get ASP or Front Page Server Extentions to work
at all with iis 5.1. I have tried everything I can think
of plus I followed the step by step instructions from
several articles as well as advice from newsgroups.

Because of the many hours I have spent trying to get ASP
and Front Page Server Extensions to work with iis 5.1 I
am very frustrated with iis.

Can someone please explain why ASP nor FPSE wont work at
all?
I am currently studying for Certification in CIW. I need
to know how to be able to utilize these features.

Please help.

I don't know what CIW is ... but, perhaps the better approach would be
to direct your question to a newsgroup where people using this
technology hang out. Probably one related to IIS, ASP, or FrontPage
would be a better start. Also, be sure to give them more details to
enable debugging, e.g. the exact error messages you are seeing.

In all probabilty the issue you are facing is permissions.

I would also recommend you not use "articles" and "advice from
newsgroups" as your sole source of authoritative guidance. Read the
install documentation provided and also find yourself a book or two.
For what you are trying to do you'll probably need a couple of them.
