iic applications - trojan?

Ann

Hi - my system is recovering from a very nasty attack by several trojans
that I have now identified and deleted. However, one symptom that I put
down to the trojans is that every time I boot up and connect to IE6 my
firewall goes mad and informs me that an application is trying to get
through - when I find the application it has been created on bootup. They
all start iic the latest being 'iicE254.exe' - all applications and are
resident in system\temp.

Are these legitimate applications or is something nasty still lurking on my
machine that isn't being being picked up by Norton, The Cleaner or Ad-aware.

Thanks for your help

Thanks Dan - I have looked at this and it is a bit intimidating - I haven't
a clue how to edit a registry - certainly the cleaner and adaware don't find
anything - do you have any suggestions as to what software might get rid of
this type of pest.

Do not put this app in a temp folder, or you desktop. It's best to
create it's own folder as it will create backups of what's deleted in
case it's needed

Thank you - I download Spybot and you would not believe what it found
including Adgoblin - all gone now though and didn't get any iic
applications popping up when I rebooted and connected again:)

Thanks a lot for your help

Ann

Very nice to hear that Spybot seems to have solved the problem and that
peace & quiet have returned to Ann. Glad to have helped.
