If Outbox is opened messages turn to unsent

We have Outlook 2000 with Norton Anti Virus protection and now if the Outbox
is opened any email messages wating to be sent are turned to unsent.

If you do not go into the Outbox they will go once Send/Received is pressed.
They used to go on there own accord before as well but now the Send action
has to be selected.

Please advise what I can to recify these problems.

The simple solution is not to go to the Outbox.

We've seen this behavior occur when an add-in is installed that does things with selected items.
