ex. if d3 = cell A1 OR cell A2 OR cell B5 OR cell B6,"NOTHING FURTHER
NEEDED","CONTACT SUPERVISOR")

how do I make this work

Try
=IF(OR(D3=A1,D3=A2,D3=B5,D3=B6),"NOTHING FURTHER NEEDED","CONTACT SUPERVISOR")
