I get this message when attempting to start internet
explorer. I have battled this problem and can't solve.I
have read the published advice on this issue experienced
by others posted on this site (graphics settings,
parasites)with no luck. I doubt it relates to the
graphics card - suspect some added (intentionally or
unintentionally) has caused this issue. Any other
thoughts?

Grego,
From Control Panel> Internet Options> Advanced uncheck "Enable third party
browser extensions." That should allow IE to open.

Then...
Run CWShredder from http://www.net-integration.net/tools/hijackthis.html
It's been
the most helpful with this type of problem. CWShredder is only about 125 KB
so it could be downloaded from another machine onto a floppy disk if
necessary.

You may have to follow CWShredder with Ad-aware and Spybot, see:
Dealing with Unwanted Spyware and Parasites:
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

You should re-enable browser extensions after the cleanup.

Also...
A legitimate program running in the background may be causing this. Disable
(for diagnostic purposes) programs such as pop-up blockers, security,
anti-virus, etc. Also... notorious for causing problems- Gator, Kazaa and
some others.

There are other possibilities for KERNEL32 errors:
http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/answers.htm#kernel32
http://www.generation.net/~hleboeuf/erriexpl.htm#ERRKERNEL32.DLL
http://aumha.org/win4/a/kernel32.php

Regards,
Don

What is the exact error message?
If there is a Details button click that and give us the first two lines.

Thanks for the advice. By unchecking that selection and
restarting the computer I am able open internet explorer.

I really appreciate the help!
