iexplorer.exe has generated errors.....................

Immediately after stupidly adding an unknown individual to my Yahoo
Instant Messenger friends list, my internet explorer would produce the
error message above. I am running Windows 2000 Professional. I tried
to use the repair tool to repair what I think was Internet Explorer
5.0. I have since downloaded Internet Explorer 6 SP 1 after removing
the IE 5.0. I continue getting the same error message indicated above
and then a second window indicating that the neccessary libraries
needed may be missing or corrupt to locate Yahoo or whatever web sight
i was trying to enter. I am still able to access Yahoo by using a link
from my History toobar, but the error message coninues to appear
anytime I try my Internet Explorer desk top icon and frequently when I
link from site to site or search. I have also not been able to use the
games functions at Yahoo.

My e-mail seems fine, as is the operations of my Yahoo Instant
Messenger. I checked the error message at Microsoft Support, but the
fixes they suggest don't apply or work. I have run my Norton Virus
protection and Spybot to no avail. I am really frustrated.

Suggestions or assistance greatly appreciated. Fred Flintstone

Check your system for "hijackware":

You *must* seek updates for Ad-Aware, Spybot, etc., before each and every
use, even "right out of the box". But even then, they can't catch
everything. When all else fails, HijackThis
(http://www.merijn.org/files/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
It will help you to both identify and remove any hijackware/spyware. **Post
your files to http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.

[Many anti-spyware sites continue to suffer from a week-long DoS attack.
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page: http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm.]
