iexplore.exe application error just started happening

Hi. I get the following error and can not seem to find any information about
this specific reference. Has anyone had this experience???

Error:

The instruction at "0x41009968' referenced memory at "0x03b73a6c". the
memory could not be "read". Click on OK to terminate the program.

Yes, this is a reported bug that is not happening from the recent
December cumulative fix for Internet Explorer. Someone has posted a
fix for it but not how to apply it, here's what to do:

1. Start > Run > type in notepad.exe and press enter.
2. Copy and paste into the notepad body the following


Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_PROTECT_DECOMPRESSION_FILTER_FROM_ABORT_KB942367]
"*"=dword:00000001



3. File > Save As

A: File Name = IE6-crash-fix.reg
B: Save As Type: All Files
C: ANSI

4. This will save it to your desktop and should have a green cube-ish
icon. Double click it and it will ask you to "Add the information..."
so just click OK.

Nope. Note that Internet Explorer problems are mainly caused by installed
spyware, followed by poorly written IE add-ons.
Start > Run: iexplore.exe -extoff

If the problem doesn't show up anymore, one of the culprits above apply.

Not really. IE6 (only) either stops responding or crashes with an error
message referring to urlmon.dll as the faulting module in this case.

Someone has posted a fix for it but not how to apply it, here's what to do:
