Recently my 1394 no longer can start (code 10). Several members of my family are also having the same problem. This all started in the last couple of weeks. We have not shared any files and our systems scan clean.I thought it might be a network problem but friends of mine are also having this same problem. I would appreciate any help on this matter.

Don't know your chipset but I had the same condition and was able to get
mine working using ali drivers. You might try those. You can get them at,
ftp://www.ali.com.tw/driver/int205.zip

Thanks for the info but it didn't help. I'll keep trying and listening to any advice.
