If I uninstall and re-install IE7 on my XP Pro SP2 laptop, what happens to
all the security updates that are now currently installed and listed in
Add/Remove Programs? Will I need to re-install some or all of these, or will
they get deleted with the uninstall? Will Automatic Updates know that they
need to be re-installed, since they are already listed as being installed?
Tks.

Does it really matter? there's TWO of them.......

First you didn't say why you need to reinstall IE7 and second there are two
versions of IE7. The RTM version and the Oct. 2007 version. which one do you
have now?
Download IE7 from www.microsoft.com/ie and save to your HDD, that way you
will have it. The current version on Downloads is
7.0.5730.13
The RTM version was
7.0.5730.11.

They will be removed.

After uninstalling IE7, Windows Update/Automatic Updates will offer you
IE6-specific versions of the security updates.
