IE7 or Firefox?

Hi, I;ve just had to reformat my drive and completely re-install xp which was
very painful as I lost everything, my own silly fault I know, so seing as I'm
starting afresh I wondered if there is any experienced opinionas to which is
better IE7 or Firefox, I've never used Firefox myself and when Ive questioned
the couple of people I know who do use it, they were very encouraging and
positive about it against using IE7. Thing is I dont want to make a mistake
and be back in this postion somewhere soon, so wondered if I could get some
solid opinions.

Firefox is often recommended over IE due to malware attacks. I would
stay (far) away from IE version 7. Unfortunately, some websites will
not work without IE. Write a backup plan that's easy to implement to
save you some grief.
