IE7 Javascript:function()

Anyone know if javascript: pseudo-protocol calls such as;

<a href="javascript:doSomething()" ></a>

...will work in IE7?

It seems to be on some people's wish list to remove support for this
and it does seem like the Beta version doesn't support it.
