IE7 Feature Set Locked In?

I sure hope when IE7 is released it will support targetable Explorer Bars.
Call them 'sidebars' or 'Explorer Bars' or 'Task Panes' or whatever; I don't
want to have to use the lame target="_search" hack to open the Explorer Bar
and not being able to display content in the Explorer Bar that can not
target its calling page is like using crippleware.

What's the smilie for crossed fingers that IE7 provides robust support for
Explorer Bars?

My question is about the beta test for it. If there is one, they may
incorportate some tester suggestions... I personally think they should do
something similar to MSN explorer...

Hello Clinton,

The "hack" you described as well as your targetable explorer bars have the
disadvantage that they can be abused for showing permanent ads.

Why don't you use frames instead?
