IE7 and Outlook both say error all of a sudden

One of the desktops in my office is running XP Media Center Edition SP2.
Yesterday my partner and I left the office and when we returned his outlook
was froze saying it encountered an error. When I tried to use IE7 it didnt
even fully load up before giving me an error message. I can get on the
network fine and also Firefox works fine. Any ideas on where to start?
