IE6 won't open .pdf files

Chris

For some reason I can't get IE6 to open up websites that
are in .pdf format. It says in the bottom left corner
that it is downloading and then it says 'Done' but
nothing opens. I do have Adobe on my computer and I can
open .pdf files that I have saved to my home drive, but
from the Internet I cannot open .pdf's.

How can I get round this as I need to get to .pdf sites.

Launch the Acrobat Reader, click on File | Preferences | General, then select "Web Browser Integration".

Restart the browser and then when you click on a link to a PDF file, it will open in the IE window.

If this doesn't work, you may have to reinstall Acrobat in order to load the IE plug-in.

Chris,

I had the same problem. I went to remove/add programs and
clicked the change button (instead of remove)for Adobe.
The option for reparing errors came up and I selected
that. After it repaired Adobe, it seemed to work fine. I
can now open PDF files in my browser. Hope this helps!
