IE6 stopped working

IE6 suddenly stopped working on my PC. I get the very
annoying "Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and
needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
message anytime I start it up. I would like to reload, but
don't know what download to use. Anyone know an answer?

First eliminate any scumware.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated before every use, even when just
downloaded. There's also a lot more to do than just those two programs.

Tried Spybot as you suggested, this time installing
updates as you suggested and it worked.

I don't know how to solve it but I've been having the
same problem for almost a week now. I have downloaded the
