IE6 starts/stops - how to debug

Hello,

I've posted before about IE6 starting then stopping with no window or
error of any kind being displayed. I can start IE6 as another use so
this could indicate a plug-in or something interferring with IE6.

Is there a way I can debug IE6 so I could figure out what is keeping
IE6 from starting. My guess is IE6 during the loading process does
not like something and ends - however there are no indications of
the reason it terminates. No windows are created. In fact if one
goes to a command prompt where IE6 is stored and runs IE6 it runs
and quickly returns to the prompt after terminating with no messages
of any kind.

So my basic question is this: How could I run IE6 such that I can
see what it is trying to load and from that may be able to
ascertain what is causing IE to unload?

Thanks,

Steve

I'm not really looking for a hijacker rather wondering if there is a
debug mode for IE so I can see what IE is loading as it comes up.
Do you know of such a debug mode for IE?

I know of none, no. HijackThis *will* show you what's loaded in Windows and
when IE has loaded.

I know of none, no. HijackThis *will* show you what's loaded in Windows and
when IE has loaded.

I ran a before and after log with HijackThis in another userid where IE6
works fine. I ran a before log in the userid that IE6 fails and ran an
after log as well. As you mentioned, IE6 must load for HijackThis to show
what's loaded.

Perhaps by reviewing all the "HijackThis" logs from a userid where IE6
works and the logs from the userid where IE6 fails I might be able to see
those loaded from not loaded pop-ups & what nots. At some point, either
with this utility or others I hope to find what is causing IE6 to fail.
I'm basing this premise on the fact IE6 runs OK under one userID and IE6
fails under my default userid means some plug-in or similar item is
causing IE6 to function improperly.

Thanks,

Steve
