I removed a default homepage from IE6 and it keeps coming
back. Extremely annoying to say the least. Also every time
I try a a search some serach page appears on the left of
my browser screen. How can I get rid of it all?

thanks

Ted...download CWShredder (freebie). It is safe and will detect and remove
the trojan quickly. After CWS removes it, go back and reset your home page
and all should be back to normal.

Hi Ted...I had one yesterday myself that was IwantSearch.com. I'm extremely
careful, so don't know how that hummer took over my computer. I was
visiting an MP3 site. That's where I usually have my problems. I rarely go
there, but needed something yesterday.

Anyway, first thing I did was run AdAware and Window Washer 5. Didn't phase
it. I opened up my CW Shredder and it cleaned it out within seconds. In
the past, I have also used Spy Sweeper and HiJack This. You need to be
careful what you delete with HiJack This. You could end up deleting
something important by accident. But CW Shredder is safe. I also used it
once to remove the CoolWebSearch toolbar, but the program removes other
unwanted toolbars as well. It's a teeny-weeny little program at 130 kbs.

Vicki

I already tried spyware soft like AdWare 6.0. Should it remove just the
same?

It sounds good. I don't mean to be rude but I do get the impression that you
are trying to advertise this program.

cheers,

<smiling> No, not advertising...it's a freebie. Actually, I've been with
another Microsoft group for over 6 years now and people periodically post an
SOS with your same problem. Regardless of who replies to their post, the
answer is usually the same, "Try CW Shredder first." (We have lots of MVPs
in our group, too.) If you're uncomfortable, just repost your question and
let someone else respond.

BTW, if that doesn't work, you might try Spy Sweeper. It's powerful. I
paid for their 2-year subscription, but am told that you can now download it
for free. Don't hold me to that one though because I haven't confirmed
it. -- One way or another...good luck!

Smiles,
Vicki

Do NOT pay for software when others will help you fix your problems for
free.
