Hi,

I am having problems with IE6 on Win98SE. For example, the browser
automatically diverts to some dodgy webpage whenever it cannot find
the page specified (instead of giving the 404 Not Found page). To get
rid of this I tried to uninstall IE6 and re-install it but I can't do
that either. When I go to repair/restore it through Control Panel it
does not work. There does not seem to be any uninstall.exe file for
IE6 either. Can someone please advise me on this.
Thanks
Brendan

Just today I saw a page either on M$ or a site that looked like M$ that had
instructions on how to remove IE 6, so it can be done. Sorry I'm not much
help, maybe try a Google search? www.mozilla.org has a very good browser
named Firefox. It's not buggy like IE and many people like it better.
There's a lot of plug-ins available so you can customize it how you like.
It's definitely the browser to have around for at least a backup when IE
goes on the blink.

The most likely reason for that is that your browser's search function
has been hijacked and you are using the Address bar without specifying
a protocol prefix.

Learn to use Google Groups to research your problems.
Tip: to cut through the chaff of other posters questions
about the details you are investigating append
the search expression: MSFT OR MVP

Good luck
