IE6 operating in slow motion

I have trying to list stuff on e-Bay this morning and it's
driving me nuts. Everything I do (keystrokes,scrolling,
etc.) seems to be in slow motion, all delayed. I haven't
listed anything in a long time, but I noticed this started
a few weeks back.

It also does it on other sites, some worse than others
(All Music Guide started doing it around the same time).
Seeing that the problem isn't unique to E-bay, do you
think it's something related to my browser settings (I
have upgraded to the latest IE and it didn't change
anything related to this problem), my mouse, my keyboard ?
It's so slow it's almost impossible to list anything, it
would take all day. Any thoughts or suggestions?

check and make sure you don't have the Nachi worm. i
know this worm can degrade connectivity.

System is running Win'98 and I believe this only affects
new MS O/S.
