IE6 opens blank - no urls show up - reinstall gives error to reboo

My IE6 doesnt work at all. I am speaking through firefox which does work.

When i open my IE6, the window comes up blank, with only the toolbars
showing. I can turn on and off toolbars, and go through the menu, however if
i click on anything like Help -> About, it does nothing.

If i type in a URL, nothing comes up.

I have closed and reopened, i have rebooted many times, I have disabled all
spyware/antivirus for tests, and nothing seems to be working.

I downloaded the IE6+sp1 install file, but it fails to run. Everytime it
gives the error that my computer requires a reboot and says it will now
close. I need to FORCE a reinstall. How do i do this? Thanks.

The same thing is happening to me. One day IE just would not work. I have to
use Firefox all the time and I have no idea what is wrong.
