IE6 launches secondary window as tiny window

I know this is the wrong NG to post this in but I can't seem to find another
that's likely to be active enough to help out.

Running IE6 fine until the other day when something I can't expain occured.

1) Launch IE and load a web page for just about any site.

2) Click a link on that site to another page which cause a 2nd IE window to
be opened, ie. a site where the may be a separate Help window that opens
when the Help link is clicked or a product info browser window, etc....

3) Up until a couple days ago when I'd do this, the 2nd IE window would open
'full screen' - now it opens as a tiny window just one 'row' tall (the title
bar) and about 1" long - just enough room for the minimiz/maximize/close
buttons and not much else.

Any ideas what changed and how to get back to behaviour stated in 2) above?

Thanks.

IE remembers the last window that was opened.

This will have to be redone occasionally.

Open *one* instance of IE | Use the cursor (not the
maximize button) to drag the window to the desired
size | Click the Close [X] while holding down the
Ctrl key.

That seems to have fixed the problem.
Thank you.

In Window and IE, my text prompt becomes a black square box( flashing),
instead of a normal flashing "I" . It's giving me alot of inconvenience
when doing backspace and inserting character.
When using Office, no such problem.
Please help.

Find the 'Insert' near the upper right of the keyboard and tap it
once.
