Hi,
Over the course of the past few weeks I've downloaded and
installed a number of different updates available from
Microsoft for XP, IE6 and media player. Ever since, I
have an annoying problem. Unfortunately I didn't notice
which update caused the problem.
Whenever I access my ISP, IE6 will not display the
homepage the first time. I get the "Can not display
page " error message. If I refreash the screen a couple
of times, the homepage displays and I never have another
problem. A few times a refresh would not work, but if i
re-requested the homepage from the address bar, it will
display.
My father has a laptop with a similar issue. He uses MSN
and the message on the screen says he's connected, but he
get's a similar message from MSN. A refresh also
corrects his problem. He had also downloaded and
installed most of the same updates I did.
I cleaned up internet cache, cookies and checked that the
default page was configured correctly. The page address
also displays correct in the address bar.
Thanks for any thoughts on this....
Mike
