IE6 hangs while windows updating - PLS help

Guys,

I am trying to update windwos XP Pro but the IE6 hangs each time I try to do
it.

I tried to install the fix q818506 for IE6 to fix this problem but it
display an error indicating that I do not have SP1 for IE6 it is not correct
becuase I have it (appears in the IE6 about box).
