almost every time i start ie6,it either doesn't start or goes to my homepage
and freezes.windows then locks up and i cannot do anything.to get the pc
running again i use a game disc (eg. aoe2 ) and the act of autoplaying the cd
unsticks the hang.i've disabled and enabled addons but the problem
persists.i've run spyware and virus scans as well as the malware scan from
microsoft,all to no effect.
it is really annoying and any help would be greatfully appreciated.

Hi Gypsyfreek.
What windows version do you have. Do you do regular windows updates? In
this case also how much memory does your machine have? (Graphics
accelerator... Games can be memory intensive)

Try this quick test.
Choose Start>Run to display the Run Dialog. Enter the command:
iexplore.exe -new

This will open IE without your usual home page. If this works then it is
your home page that is causing the problem. Use Tools>Internet
Options>General tab to change your home page to about:blank.

Please post back to this thread.
