IE6 freezes when typing URL in address bar

Pretty much as it is in the title!

Sometimes, not always, when I am typing in a URL in the
address bar of IE6 the browser freezes, cursor disappears,
and I have to ctrl-alt-del to end task.

I have up to date Norton AV and Ad-aware installed and no
spyware or viruses have been detected. I have deleted all
temp int files and cookies yet the problem still exists.

I have been running IE6 for quite a while and the problem
has only occured over the last couple of days.

Any help massively appreciated.

especially Style Sheets? Uncheck them.

These days most of us are recommending HijackThis: Post your files to the
forum mentioned on the above page.

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on do both once-a-day.
