IE6 Encryption Problems

M

Mike

I represent a Yahoo! online store. Yahoo! stores operate
on 128 bit encryption SSL 2.0/3.0. I've encountered a
few customers who are unable to operate in the secure
mode when entering the shopping cart. The issues only
occur with IE6 Browsers on WinXP operating systems.
Oddly, the problem will sometimes correct itself after a
few weeks and then resurface later. Also, not being able
to go secure on one site does not necessarily mean they
can't go secure on another. The encryption "lock" is not
visible when this issue surfaces. Does anyone know what
causes this and how to fix it?

All Microsoft updates are current, virus definitions and
firewall updates current. IE6 is set at default settings.

I can't access Yahoo Mail (or Hotmail for that matter).

I've tried each of the fixes listed but none have fixed
the problem.

Is there anything else I can try? I don't want to
reinstall windows if it's likely to happen again.

Are Microsoft on the case with this one? Can we expect a
patch sometime??

Thanks.
