IE6 encoding Problem

M

Microsoft

If I go to IE6 Encoding, Japanese is not listed there and i am not able to
view the Japanese websites. I am using Windows 2000 with SP 4. I have
already added Japanese under Tools > Internet options > general > languages
but no results. Is there any other way to view Japanese website.

What do you see (when you are on a Japanese webpage) under View -->
encoding? If you go to the 'More' selction, do you have the option to
select a Japanese encoding option?

Also, when viewing a Japanese webpage have you been prompted to download the
language packs?

You mentioned that you are using Windows 2000 SP4, but not the version of IE
you are using. Can you reply to the newsgroup with your IE Version, as well
as any installed patches (found in Help --> About)?
