IE6 doesn't work!

This is really upsetting! Aol works perfectly fine and I can use the internet normally through that. But whenever I open internet explorer, i get the message cannot find server/this page cannot be displayed. I get the message even though i am online and can visit any site through aol. I can't remember when this happend, either when i upgraded to xp, or when i downloaded ie6, or when i fixed a problem with my jvm. Someone please help, I want to go back to internet explorer. Thanks.
