IE6 crashing

My work has put up a system where we can log in via its
security packages into the servers at work from anywhere -
in theory. On my WinME pc at home, every time I go in, it
runs some java stuff and citrix stuff. I see this at
work, where it works fine (Win 2000 & NT4) but on my ME
machine IE crashes with errors in IE, or Kernel or GUI.
There is no tech support for home machines - but I was
sent to the Sun site to download latest Java VM. did
this. Completely trashed ME - Norton wouldn't let it
reboot.

PC works fine for internet banking, which is what the
techies at work compare what they're offering with.

Rebuilt PC from originial CD, downloaded all MS patches
(hours of fun - even on broadband...). And still IE6
crashes on this work site. Don't really want to risk Sun
download again... Machine is otherwise pretty stable for
ME I think.

Read elsewhere that NAV (2002 in my case) is bad match for
ME. Could this be the problem?

Any other ideas? Is there any diagnostic ware that I can
run to help poinpoint what's wrong?

A. See

B. You may need new video drivers. Check the site for your video board
manufacturer. Meanwhile you can do the following:
1. Use the default mouse pointers.
2. Turn down your color depth. (Right click the desktop and choose
Properties | Appearance | Settings) Some people find that increasing color
depth helps.
3. Turn down your graphics hardware acceleration. (For Win 98, Start |
Settings | Control Panel | System | Performance | Graphics button) You will
see little, if any, performance degradation.
4. Turn off your desktop wallpaper.

If these make the problem go away you need new video drivers.

If you have an ATI video board, try adding these lines to System.ini
