my IE6 will no longer open any pdf file (all I get is the
little box with the re X in it) when I try to open on line
PDF's

Can open local file no problem. Reinstalled as much as
possible on the ADobe side but still no luck.

Seems to be a browser problem.
Anyone with ideas? would be much appreciated.

Yes it appears to be.
I can down load online PDFs and open them locally no
problem.

However, one of my services uses the forms online and it
is still just a problem in my browser.

A appreciate any advice you may have.

I had to fiddle with the Acrobat Reader Preferences (Ctrl-k).
(Internet Options, toggling them off and on) to get AR6.0 to
calm down after installing XPsp2RTM. Installing AR6.01
after that has so far been uneventful. YMMV.

My current settings are irrelevant. I can now use any combination
of settings from that dialog.

The point is that after installing XPsp2RTM my then settings weren't
working. I can't remember exactly what they were but I will guess that
all those boxes were checked. What I'm saying is that there was a
specific symptom associated with that condition. By toggling them
all off (e.g.) I got a new symptom (also as I recall unexpected).
Eventually by toggling some back on again I got...

Oops. I just remembered what really happened after that.
Toggling those options *was* changing the symptom but it still wasn't
working quite right so I decided to uninstall it via Control Panel's
Add/Remove Programs. That's where I discovered that AR6.0
has a Repair feature (via the Change button). That Repair I think
was actually the ultimate resolution to my problem symtoms.

Sorry for the confusion. It has been a while since I did that and
unfortunately I no longer keep a personal log of everything I do
on this machine as I once did.
