IE6.0 page can't be displayed

I am using windows 2000 pro and running IE6.0. When I
access IE the message comes up that page can't be
displayed but I can go to a command prompt and ping an
outside web site with no problems. I have reinstalled
IE6.0 and still same issues.

I have also deleted all temporary files, history and reset
all Internet options.

What is my problem?

Thanks,
cjm
