IE & Yahoo Games CANASTA...

IE locks up ONLY when exiting Yahoo Games CANASTA. I have no other problems
with IE locking up with any other games or at any other sites. I have tried
everything from Clearing Cache, Temporary Files, running NAV, CWShredder,
Spybot Search & Destroy etc.. Nothing shows any kind of problems and I must
continue to use Windows Task Manager (Cont/Alt/Del) to unlock IE/Canasta
window. Any one else experiencing a problem with Yahoo Games - Canasta or
found a solution to the problem?

A lot of Yahoo games use Java. Make sure you have the latest version, or
reinstall from here:
http://www.java.com/en/download/download_the_latest.jsp

Thanks for the suggestion Jon but I am on the latest Java JVM 1.5.0_04. I
have no problem connecting and playing the game Canasta, it is only when I
try to exit that I lock up.

Do you have MS Java installed? http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/14.html
Some Java programs were written with the MS version of the Java VM in mind.

Jon...Thank you so much! I was unaware that I could download MS Java and
thought that Windows XP, SP2 would only support Sun Java. Everything is
working great now....again, thank you so very much for your help. I have
spent all of the 5 months I've had this new computer with this problem and
thanks to you I no longer have this "headache".

You are most welcome, Shebu. As time goes by and programmers and developers
specifically write code for the Sun Java runtimes, issues such as yours will
fade away. Now that you have both MS Java and Sun's Java installed, you can
switch between them as the need arises, using the icon in Control Panel.
